Aerial Heli Crane - Load Lifting Helicopters
Using helicopters as aerial cranes has little to no impact on the ground and environment, and is faster, cheaper and provides a higher degree of flexibility than conventional ground cranes which are often slow to position, cumbersome to set up and can encounter on-site mobility limitations.

Ideal Aerial Lifting Platform

Heli crane helicopters are ideal for lifting tasks in numerous tricky lifting situations, including inner city work replacing air conditioning units on rooftops and factory sites, or residential and rural areas lifting pools, spa units, or removing trees from difficult or inaccessible locations. Helicopters are also useful for lifting loads over water obsticals or adverse terrain where loads have to be carried considerable distances.

Proven Record

Heavy Lift Pty Ltd is HeIi-Aust's specialised aerial crane helicopter division. Operating 23 turbine helicopters, Heli Aust has conducted a diverse range of heli construction and helicopter crane lifting operations with great success for over 25 years.

We offer a complete helicopter crane service to the construction industry, providing our own highly skilled air crews, ground staff and specialist lifting equipment for all helicopters in our fleet.

We are also happy to work with you to tailor our helicopter services to meet your specific lifting job requirements, as through experience we are acutely aware that no two heli crane lift jobs are alike.

Skill

Positioning construction equipment by helicopter with pin-point accuracy requires extremely precise flying skills. As such Heli Aust company policy requires all helicopter crew meet strict safety criteria for all helicopter lifting jobs.

Our helicoper pilots are highly experienced and extremely competent. They undergo regular and thorough check and training procedures to maintain operational standards, ensure skill levels, and satisfy heli Aust and CASA recency requirements.

Our pilots also fly these helicopter operations on a day to day basis. Whether it be directing accurate helicopter water drops on bushfires, placing concrete kibbles into the hands of waiting ground crew, or threading a power pole through conductors into a pre-prepared hole, you can be assured our helicopter flight crew are second to none.

Ground and air crews receive extensive training in load handling, directing lifting aircraft, safety at heights, emergency procedures and safety briefings for all helicopter crane lifting operations, including regular internal audits and skill checks which are carried out to maintain the highest safety standards for heli crane work.

All helicopter lifting jobs are site inspected and subject to specific risk assessment criteria, with ‘Safe Work Method Statements’ produced for all heli crane jobs.

Helicopter crew are all OH&S green card certificated and rigger training is mandatory.

Aerial crane operations are largely dependent on good communication, therefore crews also undergo formal instruction in Crew Resource Management (CRM).
