For many years we have been the leading helicopter operator of magnetometer surveys, working for most of the major exploration companies in all states and territories of Australia, and have also operated helicopters internationally in the Solomon Islands. To date we have maintained an impeccable safety record.

Aircraft
Heli Aust helicopters are specifically set up for this style of operation, and should additional aircraft setups be required, our team of skilled engineers can easily fit (and gain CASA approvals for) additional specified equipment. All helicopters are also fitted with wire strike kits which increase the safety factor for these types of specialist low level helicopter operations.
Vertical reference windows allow for helicopters to be flown with the doors closed if required, to allow for greater survey crew comfort, especially in colder climates.
Heli Aust also operates a fixed wing fleet, specifically tasked with providing support for helicopter crew changes, field maintenance, and executive transport requirements.
Pilots
Our skilled pilots are highly experienced in this type of work, and are acutely aware of the high value loads being carried. Pilots undergo regular checks and training to ensure peak operational performance, and more importantly to comply with strict CASA standards.
In addition to our helicopter pilots being highly skilled in general flying operations, another advantage of having experience in helicopter geo survey work, is that our pilots fly accurate heights, speeds and direction profiles, to allow for greater accuracy of survey data, thus reducing the helicopters operational timeframes.
Maintenance & Engineering
To support our helicopter fleet, Heli Aust owns and operates a comprehensive engineering division, encompassing Avionics, Airframe, Engine, supplementary and ancillary equipment. All fully CASA approved, leading to less downtime in the field, and superior aircraft reliability.
